I did think it was odd he's been less active on Snapchat recently but I see why now. This is why I don't worry with Jeffree Star when things happen because we always find out what's going on fairly soon. Somehow in spite of this I still received Scorpio last week and many other people got their orders and the others are coming. I'm impressed they are announcing this so soon considering how much they must be dealing with in terms of the police investigation but I give them so much credit for sharing and keeping us informed. I believe that's why even with this incident this last launch was so big. We've gotten updates about malfunctions in factory equipment and even a few weeks ago when Jeffree himself bought a liquid lipstick mixing machine to attempt to alleviate some of the restock issues (kind of unheard of for a boutique brand to own their own manufacturing equipment since they generally rent due to high upfront costs).
JS Cosmetics has been consistently transparent about their process and development and how they have had to adjust to the unanticipated rise in demand that happened in November. You can't rise to that level of popularity overnight expect there not to be some hiccups especially when these companies do not own their factories outright and have to rent space in larger factories owned by large corporations who do not prioritize boutique brands like Jeffree Star or Dose of Colors (who also has delays with restocking). People complain about the restock issues with this company all the time and completely forget that this is a smaller boutique company that is barely a year old and only became widely popular in late November when Androgyny launched (I've been buying from them since before that and the stock issues they have now were not nearly as prevalent before that). I just saw this post actually and the way the company has handled this has even further reaffirmed my love for this brand.
JEFFREE STAR ORDER NOT FULFILLED UPDATE
I'm grateful we got an update so soon, few companies do this at all.Īctually knowing all of this I'm impressed that so many people including myself did receive our orders already. I'm sure this was quite an issue for the company to manage and that police investigation means that you can't be immediately posting to Instagram until you get clearance.
Shit happens and these companies have a lot of work to do to get the products to us. The transparency is what I respect so much and it has been so consistent over this past year from updates on factory equipment malfunction to Jeffree himself investing in purchase of his own machine for the liquid lipsticks outside of the rented factory space (kind of unheard of for an independent boutique brand to make this kind of investment so early on). I'm more then happy to wait if the quality continues to be this good. Jeffree Star went from being fairly unknown as a brand to intense popularity overnight when Androgyny launched and of course that makes things difficult to keep up and is going to delay the launch dates for new products. Dose of Colors is a brand like Jeffree Star that is the same size and they also have restocking issues but being less hyped there isn't as much complaining.
People are always so angry about things being out of stock on the JS Cosmetics website and I swear they don't understand that this is a smaller boutique store that is only a year old and not a large well established brand like Too Faced or Urban Decay that is backed by an even bigger cosmetic corporation. I see it all the time even on this subreddit.
